As the workshop progressed into the second day I felt a sense of sadness that as soon as a session was done people would jump onto their cell phones, often while still sitting in the circle from the workshop. It made my heart hurt that people couldn’t be more present with the container

I packed the last couple of items into my bags. I looked up at him, sitting on the bed. 

“I am going to miss you” I said.

“Me too, baby” he said back.

“I needed to do this alone. I needed to know that I could. It is an important part of my process” I said.

We were chatting after meditation as we do every night. We got speaking about competition and competitive energy. I giggled uncomfortably as I looked at a past part of me that I didn’t love. 

“I hate to admit this.” I said.

“Oh yeah, what do you have?” he asked.

“Mom, I am going to miss you” he said through tears as he stood by my bed.

“Oh baby, I am going to miss you too” I said as I sat up and gave him a hug. 

We walked slowly back towards his room as I rubbed his shoulder. It was the night before I was leaving for a business trip, a training that I had desperately wanted to complete and had gotten the opportunity to attend.

“Lunch is ready” she said and then went to get the rest of the participants from the workshop who were in different spaces resting between sessions. 

I walked into the kitchen and could already feel discomfort in my body. I had some insight that lunch was going to be something that I didn’t like, but I had no idea that I was about to be brought back to childhood in an instant. 

“Can I tell you one last thing?” she asked just as we were ending our coaching session.

“Of course” I responded.

“I was talking with my sister-in-law the other day. I was telling her about you and another medium and talking about my spirituality. When I got done telling her how excited I was she told me that she didn’t really believe in mediums. I totally forgot who I was talking to and that she wouldn’t understand my spirituality.” She went on to explain the situation further. I listened, knowing that there was some big piece coming.

I adored her the moment that I met her. Her energy spoke for itself. She hadn’t even spoken yet and I knew that she would be someone who I would work with for a long time. We completed a spirit communication training 1:1 allowing her to join an upcoming spirit communication level 2 workshop that I was running without feeling behind. She joined the spirit communication 2 workshop a couple of weeks later and jumped right into the deep end.

peered into the water tub in absolute awe while watching the goldfish swim around in circles at the bottom of the tub. I looked up and into my father’s eyes.

“You have fish in here” I said with a huge smile.

“Yes, they help to clean out the food that the cattle drop into the water tub” he said back with a smile.

He laughed to himself in the back of the car, a real laugh from deep within his soul. I couldn’t help but laugh simply listening to him laughing. 

The GPS was shouting out directions, and each time it said the highway that we were on, he laughed more, head back, eyes closed, mouth open, belly laughing. I snickered in the front seat, knowing full well what he was laughing about.
