That is one huge lens

He takes his camera almost everywhere, you never know when nature is going to display something really impressive. This day was no different. We were walking along the ocean on a hot yet breezy summer day and he held the camera in his hand. The salt water kissed our feet as we walked and the sounds of the waves felt like they were serenading us. The day was absolute perfection in every sense of the word.

“That is one huge lens you have” a random man said to him. He laughed and made a joke about size not mattering.

We walked along chatting and within a short period of time another person stopped him and said “you have a mighty small camera there”. He laughed and made another joke about size not mattering.

We walked the ocean for about 2 hours and 5 different people stopped him to make a comment about the size of his lens or camera. We ended up talking about size and how it does or doesn’t matter. We spoke about how the size of your lens and how it impacts confidence and how you move through the world, how you view yourself and how you engage with others. We spoke about how focused on size our culture can be, in so very many ways. We spoke about how picking the size of our “camera lens” impacts the soul lessons that we are here to heal, learn and understand about ourselves. We spoke about how size in all of its forms related to body are somehow attached to a lesson, these bodies that we chose were not by mistake. We spoke about how these bodies that we picked are here to give us the gift of being human and also to support us in learning the lessons that we wanted to learn. These beautiful bodies are a mentor for us, if we allow them to be.
