She was fully capable of reading energy but she didn’t believe in herself. I have learned over time that creating figurative and literal space can allow someone a moment to reset their energy. I do it for myself when I enter a new space. If I am at a house clearing or a seance I always ask to use the bathroom, not because I need to use it but because I need a moment and the opportunity to feel into the energy and set my sacred space. I recognize that she didn’t know yet that she needed this. 

“I am going to go use the bathroom and I will be right back” I said to her. 

I could feel her anxiety and discomfort with where I was asking her to go, yet she was paying me to do this. I honestly didn’t even need to pee, but I went anyway. I hoped that when I returned she would have been able to release resistance and ground into herself. 

I walked back into my office where she was sitting. I plopped down into my chair and pulled my left leg under myself. I leaned over onto the left armrest and smiled at her. Between us was a trunk of a tree that I had made into a table. On the table was a plant and some rocks. The stump sat just under a window. Suddenly there was movement outside of the window and then a “tap, tap, tap”. I leaned over to look at what was tapping. A bright red male cardinal tilted his head sideways, looked at me, tapped again and flew off. 

I laughed “well, there is your sign from spirit” I said. 

I closed my eyes and let her read me knowing that spirit was present and guiding her as she learned about her own abilities and how to stand in her own power.
