Responsibility

I had been doing spiritual coaching with her for a month. We had looked at patterns, behaviors and thoughts that she wanted to shift or change. Her diagnosis of cancer created an internal need for her to look at herself and work on healing. We had openly spoken about the law of attraction, how whatever we are putting out for a vibration level we will attract back with people, experiences, environments etc. This was a solid belief of hers so it was one that we worked with.

“I want you to close your eyes and feel the vibration level of responsibility. What does it feel like in your heart? In your body?” I said.

She closed her eyes and after a moment she opened them and said “restrictive, bad”. She has spent almost all of her life in the vibration level of responsibility.

“Now, I want you to feel into play”

She closed her eyes and almost instantly a smile came across her face. Within a couple of minutes she opened her eyes and gently said “It feels expansive and fun and good” with a twinkle in her eye.

“Great, then see how much of your day you can spend in that feeling. I want you to feel it in your heart and body as many times in a day as you possibly can.” I said.

“Oh, I like that” she smiled back at me.

“Now, I want you to feel the vibration levels of cancer.” I asked her.

She closed her eyes and I watched her whole face shift from a beautifully light smile to a stern and empty look. Within seconds she opened her eyes. She didn’t have words this time. We sat in silence.

When she broke the silence it wasn’t what I was expecting. “Oh, this is good.” she said. I honestly didn’t know how to respond so I left silence for her to continue to process whatever she was working through and simply held space for her.

“This is really good.” with another long silence.

“Next life, I won’t spend my whole life aligning with responsibility because it feels the same as cancer. Next life, I will have fun. I will play. I will enjoy life. I get it. I really get it Erin.”

Weeks later I felt her transition. It was as if time stopped for a moment and I took a deep breath with her. I felt so grateful for our connection, engagement, and interaction.

Then, one day when I was waiting on a session with a client she showed up in spirit form.

“Can you please tell my story?” she asked.

“Sure” I responded.

“I want other people to learn this lesson differently” she said.
