“May I offer you a different lens to look through?” I asked. He wasn’t a client of mine. He was someone I crossed paths with because the universe knew we needed each other. I adored him the moment I met him. 

“By all means, yes please”  he responded.

“I am a huge believer in people having different truths. So, this doesn’t have to be your truth. For me, my body is the best divination tool that I will ever own. For me, I view my body as a teacher, a mentor, a spirit guide. So, when it talks to me I try to sit with it. I try to understand what it is saying to me. I try to say, I hear you and now that you have my attention can you teach me differently?”.

“I like that. My body is a spirit guide.” he said back. 

“What if it was a safety net to ensure that you learned the lessons you agreed to learn while you were here on earth. What if you agreed to all of this. What if your body was always going to scream at you until you heard the lesson?” I asked.

“Yeah, I like that. I am going to think about that. I have been running away from my pain.” he said.

“But, what if you appreciated it? What if you viewed the pain as a teacher? It was trying to teach you and you were running from it?” I asked.
