Wide open

He purchased a reading at the expo and I knew from the moment he walked up to the booth that he would be different to read. He sat down and said “no pressure, but I have walked all the way around this expo and came back to you because I knew that you would read me best and would tell me something profound”.

I smiled back at him as I rubbed essential oils onto my hands and gently lifted them to my face to smell. I closed my eyes and released anything that needed to be released. I started to connect with his energy and then opened my eyes. He sat across from me with his hands on the table and open, eyes closed and heart wide open. He was easily the most open to being read that I had ever experienced in any expo setting. There was no part of him that was hiding or blocking or holding up a wall.

I felt my shoulders relax and opened the channel for the universe to speak through me. He never moved. He never reacted. He never spoke. He simply sat in absolute openness.

When the timer went off and I stopped speaking his eyes gently opened and a smile crossed his face. “You are the single best reader that I have ever been to” he said casually as if he was simply saying good morning to me. “Your ability to engage with energy is unworldly. Sometimes, I meet people and it is clear that they are meant to be doing something else with their life. But you, you are doing exactly what you are meant to do with your life. Truly.”

I smiled back at him and softly said “thank you”. Years ago, I would have bathed in his validation of me, it would have fed me, it would have stayed with me for days, weeks, maybe months. Instead, I received it and smiled. I already knew that I was solidly on my path and didn’t need anyone else to validate that for me anymore.

We went on to speak about how open he was and how easy it was to access his energy. On my drive home from the expo I thought a lot about him and how beautiful it was to meet someone who was as open as he was. Someone who was unafraid of being seen, and in that space of no fear he was also incredibly open to every healing opportunity.
