Naked

I journal naked frequently. I also write my blog posts naked most of the time. You may wonder why I am telling you this, but I promise there is a reason.

I can remember the first time I journaled naked, it was an entirely different experience. At first, I was uncomfortable. So, I leaned into that discomfort. I ran at that shadow. Why would journaling naked make me feel uncomfortable? You see, you have a couple of choices when something feels uncomfortable. You can either lean away from the discomfort to avoid it, you can sit and look at the discomfort or you can lean into the discomfort and learn what it is trying to teach you about yourself. If you attend any of my classes or workshops or know me, you will know which option I pick. I lean into it. I let discomfort teach me, teach me about my shadow and myself, teach me about my growth opportunity, teach me about my healing opportunities, otherwise it is just a waste.

The act of being naked for journaling or blogging mostly has to do with being vulnerable and raw. What is the point of spending time writing if you can’t get real with yourself? Sure, it will have some benefit, but if you want the full benefit you have to be willing to get vulnerable with yourself and the paper. The more I put myself in that energy, the deeper I can go with it.

So, I get naked and I write and it is a completely different experience. If you aren’t sure about it, try it!
